GUBELIN – Known for its exquisite high-end jewelry, gemstone expertise, and as purveyors of some of today’s most sought-after luxury watch brands the Swiss, family-owned: House of Gübelin.
 
The story began when Mauritz Breitschmid opened a small watchmaker’s shop in the Swiss city of Lucerne in 1854. They grew over time and moved to ever-larger locations in the city until finally settling in the prime site on the quay that still houses Gübelin’s Lucerne boutique today.
 
In 1854, opened a watchmaker's shop on the Pfistergasse in Lucerne. In 1886, Eduard Jakob Gübelin (apprenticed to the watchmaker Mauritz Breitschmid) married Bertha Sophia Breitschmid (the daughter of Mauritz Breitschmid); in the same year, the two men became business partners, managing the growing company together.
 
It still exists today, operating in several high-end locations throughout the world. They are primarily a retailer of timepieces and jewelry, often rebranding or co-branding prestigious manufacturers such as Jaeger-LeCoultre, Patek Philippe, Movado, etc.

E. Gubeling triple signed timepiece – dial, movement, and case. This is a vintage Gubelin military style wristwatch dated from the 1950s.
 
It is a manual-wind watch with an original signed “E. Gubelin” movement, caliber based AS 1187 (Alpina 681), 17 jewels, sweep second, 43 hours power reserve, 18,000 A/h, unadjusted, Swiss made.
 
Preserved on time, the original silver dial with luminous Roman Numerals and hour marks, bold minute track and silver/luminous matching hands and a contrasting black sweep second hand. The dial is also signed with the Gubelin name.
 
It is cased in a 31.3mm round stainless-steel case and lugs. This watch also comes with a dust and magnetism movement cover.
 
It comes with a vintage light brown two-piece leather strap.

This watch is in LOVELY condition! Runs very well and keep great time!

We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust the lighting, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
