"Nivada is a Swiss watch company founded in the town of Grenchen, Switzerland. Nivada is a manufacturer of Swiss watches, their timepieces have been in the watchmaking industry since 1926... In the United States, Croton was formed in 1940 as a distributor for Nivada products, so many were sold under the 'Croton Nivada', 'Croton Nivada Grenchen', and simply 'Croton' names."

This UNIQUE, Swiss made Nivada wristwatch is dated from the late 1970s to early 1980s. This vintage manual wind watch features a caliber FHF 69-21, 17 jewel movement. The handsome two-tone chocolate brown and champagne colored dial has white stick hour marks, minute tracks, and white matching hands, and is signed with the Nivada name, logo, 17 JEWELS and SWISS MADE.

The cool retro rectangle shaped case measures 32.7x28mm and is marked 25420 and 10396 on the back, and inside of the case back is marked Nivada 518S. It has the original crown with the Nivada logo. The movement is marked Seventeen 17 Jewels Swiss.

This retro wristwatch comes finished with an 18mm new-old-stock light brown leather two-piece strap, signed Anti-Allergy Leather. Runs great and keeps great time!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
